AIM Curriculum


The Life of Christ
A survey of the gospel of Luke with the objectives of 1) detailed familiarity with the text and 2) presentation of a realistic picture of the circumstances and life of Christ. This study is to imitate Jesus in our walk today.
Christian Evidences
A study set within the context that Christianity is an historical religion, which considers the evidences for the historical Jesus, the historical reliability of the New Testament documents, and the deity and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
New Testament Message
This introduction to the New Testament teaches basic skills to study and interpret Scripture. The goal of developing this foundational understanding of the New Testament is to guide the student in God's transformation of their lives as they present His message through them to the world. Our study includes inductive Bible study methods, some beginning Greek, New Testament book summaries, practical training in developing a life presentation, and a hands-on assignment working with the book of James.
Message of Old Testament
A survey of the Old Testament emphasizing the revealed nature of God, man, sin, the unfolding of the scheme of redemption, and the coming Messiah.
Evangelism I
A study of the gospel of Mark using this book as the basis for a personal evangelistic study. The student will learn how to present the "good news" from the gospel of Mark.
Acts
A survey of the book of Acts with an emphasis on the nature and growth of the church in the first century. The church is considered as continuation of the ministry of Christ through his apostles. Therefore, emphasis is placed on living a New Testament lifestyle in the church today.
New Testament Church
A systematic presentation of the doctrinal pattern and identifiable nature of the New Testament church.
Romans
An exegetical study of the epistle to the Romans focusing on the themes of grace, faith, and justification and their application to Christian life.
Spiritual Growth and Nurturing
A study of the basic elements of Christianity and their application to the student's walk with God. Time is spent in studying God's teaching on reading and study of the Word, prayer, fasting, giving, meditation on the Word, worship, submission and service in the body of Christ. Emphasis is placed on the development of godly habits which stimulate spiritual growth.
Evangelism II
A supervised laboratory in which students participate in small group evangelistic outreach and volunteer work in Lubbock. Students seek to share their lives of faith with the community.
Men & Women with a Mission
A seminar course guiding students through various stages of emotional and spiritual growth models. Women are led in a study of their role in God's kingdom by focusing on the women of the Bible. Men are led in a study of their role as spiritual leaders.
I & II Timothy
A study of the instructions and guidance given to a young apprentice missionary. Special attention is given to life application on the mission field.
Mission Evangelism
A study of our evangelistic attitude as well as various evangelism outreach methods. This study includes an examination of the history and doctrines of different religions and denominations from the perspective of the New Testament, non-denominational Christianity.
Mission Preparation
A course designed to lead the student through the necessary steps to arrive on the mission field, adjust to a new culture and share the message of Jesus in a cross-cultural setting.
Team Building
A study with laboratory application of guidelines essential to communication and cooperation in a mission field setting. Emphasis is placed on understanding team diversity and teamwork.
Mission Practicum
A practical experience challenging students to seek opportunities in the local community to serve others and to share their faith. Evangelistic outreach includes volunteer work in the community, small group outreach, neighborhood outreach, and evangelism at Texas Tech University.
AIM Internship
16 to 20 months of guided study and apprentice work on various mission fields. This course of the program is taught under the direction of approved missionaries.
